Recipes
Four questions, start to finish. Each gives the order to call the tools in, what to check at each step, and the trap that makes the obvious answer wrong.
| Recipe | The question behind it |
|---|---|
| Why is my offer not showing? | It should be live and shoppers are not seeing it |
| How much did upsell earn? | What the offers actually brought in, over a period |
| Which offer should I fix? | Where the wasted effort is, and what to change |
| What am I actually upselling? | Which products, at which discount, in which order |
The shape they share
- Placement first. Display order, coverage and per-placement stats are all scoped to one of the four placements. A question with no placement in it usually needs one before a tool can answer.
- Narrow before you widen. Lists page at 20, and a tool response is capped — a broad call that gets cut short is worse than a narrow one that does not.
- Read the dates back. With no dates given, every dated tool uses the last 30 days. If that is not the period you meant, say the period; do not let it be assumed.
- Say what was not checked. A skipped step, an empty page, a deleted trigger resource — that belongs in the answer, not left out of it.
