Quickstart
Get your first upsell offer live in under 5 minutes.
Step 1: Install the app
Install AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell from the Shopify App Store (opens in a new tab). Once installed, you'll be taken to the app dashboard.
Step 2: Choose your offer type
AOV Post Purchase Upsell supports three offer types:
| Offer Type | Where it appears | Payment support |

| Post-purchase upsell | Between checkout and thank you page | Credit card, PayPal, Shop Pay |
| Thank you page upsell | On the thank you page | All payment methods |
| Order status page upsell | On the order status/tracking page | All payment methods |
Click Create offer and select the offer type that best fits your strategy.
Step 3: Set trigger conditions
Define which customers see your offer:
- No condition — show to all customers
- Set conditions — target specific products, collections, order values, customer segments, and more
Step 4: Select upsell products
Choose what to offer your customers:
- AI Recommendation — let AI pick the best products (recommended for stores with 50+ orders)
- Specific product — manually select products
- Specific collection — offer products from a collection
Set a discount (percentage or fixed amount) to make the offer irresistible.
Step 5: Customize the design
Use the visual editor to customize:
- Choose a template layout
- Edit header text, countdown timer, and buttons
- Add widgets like star ratings, testimonials, FAQs, and more
- Preview on desktop and mobile
Step 6: Activate and test
- For Post-purchase upsell: Go to Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout → Post-purchase page → Select AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell
- For Thank you / Order status page upsell: Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Customize Theme → Add the app block
Open your offer and use Verify offer (under "How can you verify your offer?") to test it with a real or test checkout.
