What counts as Revenue Gain
The exact definitions behind the three headline numbers on your Analytics page.
Your Analytics page opens with a Performance Summary row of cards, including Total Revenue Gain, Total Orders by App, and Average Order Value. This page defines exactly what each one counts, and what counts as an order "by the app" in the first place.
The three metrics
Total Orders by App
The count of orders attributed to AOV.ai Cart Drawer in your selected date range, see What counts as an order below.
Total Revenue Gain
The sum of the full order total (not just the items the drawer added) for every attributed order in the range. If a customer's cart qualifies as an app-attributed order, their entire order value counts toward this figure, not only the upsell items, rewards, or add-ons they picked up along the way.
This is different from the per-feature "Revenue uplift" figures. Cards like Rewards Bar, Upsell Products, Gift Wrap, and Shipping Protection each report their own narrower revenue uplift (for example, only the line items a shopper added through that feature). Total Revenue Gain is the broader, order-level number. See Analytics for how each feature's uplift is counted.
Average Order Value
Total Revenue Gain divided by Total Orders by App, the mean order total across the same set of attributed orders.
What counts as an order "by the app"
An order counts when the customer clicks Checkout from the cart drawer itself.
| Scenario | Counted? |
|---|---|
| Customer opens the cart drawer, clicks Checkout from the drawer | Yes |
| Customer opens the cart drawer, then leaves it to check out from the default cart page instead | No |
| Customer never opens the cart drawer, checks out from the default cart page only | No |
| Order created manually in Shopify admin, POS, or another sales channel | No |
This is the same attribution rule your Free plan order quota uses. Every order that counts toward Total Orders by App here also counts toward your monthly order limit, and vice versa, they're the same underlying set. See Free plan limits.
