Free plan limits
The Free plan's order quota, what happens when you hit it, and how it resets.
The Forever Free tier of AOV.ai Cart Drawer has one hard limit: a monthly count of orders generated through the cart drawer. This is an order-count limit, not a revenue limit, see What counts as Revenue Gain for the separate (unlimited-on-every-plan) Analytics revenue figures.
Who this applies to
Anyone on the Free plan. The limit does not apply to paid tiers (Basic, Pro, Advanced, Plus), which have unlimited orders.
The limit
| Installed | Monthly order limit |
|---|---|
| On or after May 21, 2026 | 30 orders |
| Before May 21, 2026 (legacy) | 80 orders |
Your quota is fixed to whichever limit applied when you installed the app, it doesn't change if the limit changes for new installs later.
What counts as an order
An order counts toward your quota when the customer clicks Checkout from the cart drawer itself.
| Scenario | Counted? |
|---|---|
| Customer opens the cart drawer, clicks Checkout from the drawer | Yes |
| Customer opens the cart drawer, then leaves it to check out from the default cart page instead | No |
| Customer never opens the cart drawer, checks out from the default cart page only | No |
| Order created manually in Shopify admin, POS, or another sales channel | No |
| Order later refunded or cancelled | Yes (already counted) |
See What counts as Revenue Gain — this is the same attribution rule your Analytics numbers use.
What happens when you hit the limit
The cart drawer stops appearing for new customers until the next reset or an upgrade. Existing functionality on already-loaded pages isn't retroactively removed, but new sessions won't see the drawer.
Reset cycle
Your count resets every 30 days from your installation date.
Example: If you installed the app on April 14, your quota resets on May 14.
Monitoring your usage
Go to the app Dashboard to see your current order count against your monthly limit.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Free plan allow 80 orders instead of 30?
Stores that installed AOV.ai Cart Drawer before May 21, 2026 keep their original 80-order legacy limit. Stores that install on or after that date get the current 30-order limit.
Does a refunded or cancelled order still count?
Yes. Once an order is counted, refunding or cancelling it afterward doesn't remove it from your monthly count.
What if I upgrade to a paid plan after hitting the limit?
The order limit is lifted immediately, all paid plans (Basic, Pro, Advanced, Plus) have unlimited orders through the cart drawer.
