Gift with Cart Value is a promotional strategy where a customer receives free gift after their cart value reaches or exceeds a specific minimum amount. When executed effectively, this tactic drives immediate revenue and contributes to long-term brand loyalty and engagement.
From your app, go to Campaigns > Gift with Cart Value to access the campaign, in which you will find a default Campaign name that we created. You should feel free to change the name, it is used for you to identify this campaign with others.
Choose a name for this campaign so that you can quickly identify it later on. Notice that your customer won’t see this name in the storefront.
Campaign Trigger
Choose the Minimum Cart Value as a threshold for your customers. You can also choose to exclude specific product(s) from this promotion by clicking Browse and choose the expected product(s).
Do:
Set the minimum cart value slightly above your current AOV. For example, if your AOV is $50, you could set the threshold at $60 or $70. This motivates customers to spend more to qualify for the free gift.
Don't:
Don't set the threshold much higher than your AOV, especially when adding extra costs including shipping, taxes, and fees. This will make your customers feel your products are out of reach.
Select gift(s)
Select the gift you want to grant your customers. This could be a product from your store.
Change the quantity of the gift that customers will receive. For instance, you might offer two free hats and one free shirt when the cart value reaches $100.
Do:
The gift has a lower value than the products in the cart. A common guideline is for the free gift to be around 10-20% of the minimum cart value.
Discount type
Decide on the type of discount for your promotion:
Free: Free of charge gift.
Percentage: A certain percentage off the gift price.
Fixed Amount: A specific amount off the gift price.
Do:
If your product is over $100, customers tend to feel an amount off discount gives more value and are more likely to buy.
But for products under $100, people usually prefer a percentage-off discount, even though the difference isn’t huge statistically.

Decide whether to combine this offer with other available discount(s)
Gift selection method
Choose the gift selection method that your customers might experience. We offer 2 types of method:
Your customers manually select the gift they want from a pop-up after they reach the minimum card value.
Content
Customize the widget pop-up title to captivate your customers’ attention.
Add a clear and enticing description of the gift to encourage your customers to claim it right away.
If you want your promotion to run for a specific period of time, you can totally set the start and end date/ time. Notice that time is based on (GNT - 5:00) America/ New York.
Start date
Add the start date and time when your promotion will begin.
End date (Optional)
Add the end date and time when your promotion will stop.
Gift limit:
You can limit the number of gift that your customer can add from the pop-up. For example, you can set up that your customer can only choose 1 gift among 3 available options.
Do:
Allow customers to choose from a limited selection of gifts give you insights into their preferences, which help you understand which types of gift resonate most with your audience and refine promotions accordingly.
Don't:
Don't set the limit too low when the required cart value is high, because it might make customer feel that the promotion lacks value (e.g., only 1 gift per cart regardless of how much is spent or how many products are purchased)
