Gift with Quantity Purchase
Follow our detailed step-by-step guideline to set up your first Gift with Quantity Purchase campaign.
What is Gift with quantity purchase campaign?
A Gift with Quantity Purchase Campaign is a type of promotion where customers receive a free gift when they buy a specific number (quantity) of a product or group of products. This strategy not only boosts the average quantity per order, but also enhances the shopping experience by creating a sense of added value and customer appreciation.
How to set up Gift with quantity purchase campaign?
Step 1: Access gift with quantity purchase
From your app, go to Campaigns > Gift with Quantity Purchase to access the campaign, in which you will find a default Campaign name that we created. You are able to change the name to your liking, it is used for you to identify this campaign with others.

Step 2: Set up Campaign name
Campaign Name: Choose a name for this campaign so that you can quickly identify it later on. Please keep in mind that your customer won’t see this name in the storefront.
Discount Code: Customers can see the discount code in the cart and on the checkout page. You can change it into something cool and related to your campaign, or you could just leave it as it is. If you can’t edit the discount code, please contact our support team for help.

Step 3: Set up campaign conditions
General Setting
Quantity: Choose the minimum quantity of a selected product customers need to buy to unlock the offer.
Apply for: Choose which product(s) that the promotion will apply to. Currently you are able to choose one of these three settings:
All products: The campaign applies to any product in the store.
Exclude products/collections: You can also choose to exclude specific product(s) or collections from this promotion by clicking Browse and choosing the expected product(s). In short, customers won’t receive the offer if they buy products from this section.
Specific products: The campaign applies to certain products only.
Specific collections: The campaign applies to certain collections only.

Do:
Please consider the price points of your product. For higher-priced items, you should set a smaller quantity condition, because customers are already paying a large amount of money for a single item. In contrast, you should set a higher required quantity with lower-priced items to encourage volume purchases without making customers feel like they’re overspending.
Step 4: Set up campaign gift
General Settings
Select the gift(s) you want to grant your customers. For instance, you might offer a complimentary gift like a beautiful handmade box if customers buy a set of 9 cupcakes.

You can change the quantity of the gift that customers will receive. Merchants utilize this feature to not only boost customers’ spending, but also to clear out remaining old items.
If the gift has multiple variants, you can choose which one you want to offer or leave the decision to customers.

Gift with the lowest price (optional)
This feature will automatically recognize the cheapest item in the customer’s cart and set it as a gift.

Do:
The gift should have a lower value than the products in the cart. A common guideline is for the free gift to be around 10–20% of the minimum cart value. For example, if everything in your store is around the same price, it is recommended to set the quantity condition of 4 or 5 to make sure you don’t lose too much money.
Step 5: Set up Discounts
Discount types
Decide on the type of discount for your promotion:
Free: Free of charge gift.
Percentage: A certain percentage off the gift price.
Fixed Amount: A specific amount off the gift price.

Do:
If your product is over $100, customers tend to feel an amount-off discount gives more value and are more likely to buy.
But for products under $100, people usually prefer a percentage-off discount, even though the difference isn’t huge statistically.
Discount combinations
If you are running multiple discounts, you can choose whether to combine this offer with other available discount(s) to set up the best possible offer for you and your customers.
Product discounts: A discount applied directly to specific products.
Order discounts: A discount applied to the entire order total, rather than individual products.
Shipping discounts: A discount applied to shipping fees.

Note:
To allow multiple discount codes to be applied in a single purchase, make sure the “Combinable with other discounts” option is enabled in the settings of each discount involved.
Discount limits (Optional)
Limit total number of uses: You can set a total of how many discounts customers can use before the offer is closed.
Limit to one use per customer: If you toggle this feature on, a customer can only use this offer one time only.

Step 6: Set up other rules
Gift limit: If you offer customers 2 or more gifts, you can set a maximum number of gifts customers can receive in a buying session.

Exclude customer segment: Select specific customer types to be eligible for the offer.

Multiplying gift: Enable this option to let customers multiply their gift reward based on how many items they buy.

Do:
Use the multiplying formula to maximize the perceived value of the promotion and make it seem more generous and compelling, especially in competitive markets where customers compare promotions across brands. A gift per item (rather than per cart) creates a sense of getting more value for each unit purchased.
Don't:
Use a gift multiplier too often, or offer gifts that are too generous, as it might devalue your brand perception or make customers think that the promotion is too “cheap”.
If the gifts are physical products, multiple units could increase packaging and shipping costs significantly. Be mindful of how shipping logistics are affected by the increased quantity of gifts, especially for international orders.
Step 7: Customer eligibility
This section lets you control who can see and redeem your campaign. You can choose to make the promotion available to everyone or limit it to specific groups.

Step 8 (Optional): Set up schedule for your promotion
If you want your promotion to run for a specific period of time, you can totally set the start and end date/time. Note that time is based on (GMT +7:00) Asia/Bangkok.
Start date: Add the start date and time when your promotion will begin.
End date (Optional): Add the end date and time when your promotion will stop.

Step 9: Display settings
Gift selection method
Choose the gift selection method that your customers will experience. At the moment, we offer 3 types of methods:
Announcement bar: Automatically adds products to the cart. (If customers can’t choose variant or quantity)

Pop-up: Shows gift options on a pop-up for customers to choose. (If there are multiple variants and a quantity of more than 2 for customers to choose)

Floating button: Shows multiple gift options on a floating button for customers to choose. (If there are multiple variants and a quantity of more than 2 for customers to choose)

Setting widget
You can customize the widget title to captivate your customers’ attention. Each type of gift selection method will contain different titles and content.
In addition, you also have the ability to customize how they look by changing the color and icon. How awesome is that!

Note:
When the variant picker option is enabled, your customers will be able to select different variants for the same product if that product has variants and options such as color and size. This provides more flexibility and improves the customer experience, especially when offering multiple units of the same gift product.
