Follow the detailed guideline to see how to set up Order Status Upsell - an upsell tool displaying relevant upsell offers on the order status page.

What is Order status upsell?

Order Status Upsell is a feature of the AOV Post-purchase app that allows merchants to showcase additional product offers when customers check their order status. It creates another upsell touchpoint even after checkout, providing an opportunity to boost revenue.

How to Set Up Order Status Upsell

Step 1: Create Order status page upsell

Navigate to the AOV Post-purchase app in your Shopify admin > Go to the Order Status Upsell section > Click on Create.

Step 2: Configure Offer Information

Offer name

Enter an Offer Name (for internal reference only, customers won’t see this name).

Step 3: Set up Trigger conditions

Define Trigger Conditions to specify when the offer should be displayed.

Condition 1

Choose the criteria for triggering the upsell offer:

  • Product-based criteria: Select either Specific Product or Specific Collection, then choose the corresponding product(s) or collection.

  • Order-based criteria: Set a condition based on Total Order Value, then define the minimum order value required to trigger the offer.

(Optional) Click + Add 'AND' Condition to add more conditions.

Step 4: Choose an Upsell Offer

Select the product to upsell using one of the options:

  • AI Recommendation: suggests the best product automatically

  • Specific Product: manually select a product to upsell

  • Specific Collection: offer products from a collection

Step 5: Customize the Offer Widget

Placement

Select the position of the upsell offer on the order status page by clicking the button Go to themes. Remember to Save the change.

Content

Edit the Title (default: "You may also like") for the recommendation list.

Show countdown timer (Optional)

If you want to set a duration for the offer, you can toggle the button. Then, set a Countdown Title (default: "LIMITED TIME OFFER! EXPIRES IN"). Finally, define the offer expiration time after checkout.

Final step: Save & Activate

Click Save to apply changes.

Make sure the upsell offer is activated in the settings.

Check the Preview section to see how the offer will appear on desktop and mobile.

By setting up Order Status Upsell, you can drive additional sales effortlessly while enhancing the shopping experience for your customers!
