What is Frequently Bought Together?

Being popularized by by Amazon, Frequently Bought Together features lets you showcase complementary products that customers are likely to by together. However, rather than just products that are bought together, we often see it used specially for upsells or cross-sells.

Based on real customer behaviors and AI generation, Frequently Bought Together ensures you are suggesting products that customers are more likely to purchase, making more effective upsells.

How to Set up?

Step 1: Get Access to Frequently Bought Together

After installing the app, navigate Offers > click Create new offer button. Here, select the Frequently bought together card.

Step 2: Set up Offer Information

Customize the Offer name to better identify it with the others. No worries, your customer will not see the name in the storefront.

Step 3: Set up Trigger Conditions

In this step, you will have to set the condition which customers have to fulfill to receive the offer.

Decide whether the items will come from specific products or collections.

Applicable products

Then, click Browse and choose the products that will be applied in this offer.

Step 4: Choose Suggested Products

Now, select the products that you want to suggest your customers in the Frequently Bought Together section. There are four options for you:

  • AI Recommendation: Allow the app the automatically suggest complementary products based on customer behavior.

  • Same Collection: Choose products from the same collection with the trigger products.

  • Specific Product: Manually select items that pair well with the trigger product above.

  • Specific Collection: Let the app suggest products from specific collection.

For the collection option, you can also choose to let the app give random products or best selling products. This ensures that the Offer Widget displays the right products to encourage upsells.

Step 5: Complete Discount Settings

In this step, you can decide whether to apply any discount(s) to the suggested products or not by toggle the button.

If yes, choose the discount type and its corresponding value. There are two available options:

  • Percentage (e.g: 10%)

  • Fixed amount (e.g: 100d)

Discount combinations

Then, enable or disable combining this discount with other promotions like product, order, or shipping discounts.

Step 6: Customize Offer Widget

The offer will be displayed as an inline table on the Product Page.

  • Position

You can decide specifically where the widget will appear on the Product Page by click Add app block and adjust in the storefront. Remember to click 'Save' to display the widget.

You can also freely customize Content appearing on the widget, including:

  • Title: Enter an engaging title for the Frequently Bought Together widget.

  • Description: Customize the text as needed and use the{{value_discount}}variable to display the discount value.

  • Complete Selection Text: Display content when the customer has added all items to their cart.

  • Incomplete Selection Text: Encourages customers to add the remaining items to get the discount.

Step 7: Set up Advanced Settings

Active Dates

Set the Start Date and Time and optionally an End Date and Time to schedule the offer.

Step 8: Preview and Save the Offer

Review the Preview on the right panel to see how the widget will look on your store’s product page.

Once satisfied, click Save to activate the offer.
